Let us look at the graph.


Consider the two points (100,500) and (200,1000).

Now, comparing the ratio of profit earned to number of items sold, we get,

Constant of Proportionality = Profit earned in dollarsNumber of items sold

cn =500100=1000200

cn=5

or, c=5n

Now, number of items sold, (n) =2000.

∴ When the number of items sold is 2,000, then the profit will be 5×2,000 = ₹10,000.
