$d(M,N)\Rightarrow MN=NM=12$units

$d(N,L)\Rightarrow NL=LN=8$units

We have $LM=LN+NM$

$\Rightarrow 20=8+12$

$\therefore$ the point $N$ is in between $L$ and $M$
