$d(E,F)\Rightarrow EF=FE=8$ units

$d(D,F)\Rightarrow DF=FD=6$ units

We have $DE=DF+FE$

$\Rightarrow 14=6+8$

$\therefore$ the point $F$ is in between $D$ and $E$
