First, we have to find the sum of $4 + 3 x$ and $5 - 4 x + 2 x^{2} = 4 + 3 x + (5 - 4 x + 2 x^{2} = 4 + 3 x + 5 - 4 x + 2 x^{2} = 4 + 5 + 3 x - 4 x + 2 x^{2} = 9 - x + 2 x^{2} = 2 x^{2} - x + 9... [equation 1]$
