∴ Distance travelled in the first 40 seconds = Area of ∆OAB + Area of ∆BCD
$=\frac{1}{2}\times 5\times 20+\frac{1}{2}\times 5\times 20=100\mathrm{m}$



As the displacement is zero, the average velocity is zero.
