Ignition temperature:-

  1. We know that for any substance to catch fire, the ignition temperature has to be reached.
  2. For spontaneous combustion, the lowest temperature at which a substance catches fire is called the ignition temperature.
  3. The ignition temperature is often known as the term ignition point.
  4. Thus the fuel has to be heated at such a temperature, that it catches fire, and this temperature is called the ignition temperature of the fuel.

Therefore, the fuel must be heated to its ignition temperature before it starts burning.
