Fullerene is the form of carbon having a large hollow cage spheroidal molecule consisting of sixty or more atoms.

The closed three-dimensional allotropes of carbon are called fullerenes.

The carbon atom in fullerene is connected by single or double bonds.

Example: Buckminsterfullerene has the formula C60 is a non-crystalline allotrope of carbon. It has a football-like structure.

Fluorine is a halogen atom. Fullerene is not an allotrope of fluorine.

Thus, fullerene is an allotrope of carbon.
