Certain fungi like yeast (unicellular) are classified as microbes. In fact, they are some of the largest microbes. Fungi are also special because they are saprophytic microorganisms, i.e., they derive their food from dead and decaying matter. Not all fungi are microbes though. For example, mushrooms and toadstools are fungi, but these are multicellular and macroscopic.
