The correct option is D Stomach of mosquito
Gametogony begins within the erythrocytes of the vertebrate host and is completed within the mosquito, where sporogony takes place. After the parasites have undergone erythrocytic schizogony for some time, some of the merozoites, instead of developing into trophozoites and schizonts give rise to gametocytes, which are capable of sexual reproduction after leaving human host. Mature and inactive gametocytes are found in the peripheral blood of man, where they wait till they are sucked by mosquito along with the blood. A female Anopheles ingests both sexual and asexual forms of parasite during its blood meal but it is only the mature sexual forms, which are capable of development. The gamete formation occurs inside the stomach of the mosquito. From one microgametocyte, 5-8 filamentous microgametes are formed, by the way of ex-flagellation. The macrogametocyte does not show any flagellation and forms only one macrogamete. This phase is gametogony.
Thus, the correct answer is option (D), 'Stomach of mosquito'.
