Question

Ganesh has to pay Rs. 482 for 19 apples and 11 guavas. If he would have exchanged the number of apples and guavas purchased, then he would have paid Rs. 64 less. Find how much more amount he has to pay to purchase 1 apple than 1 guava?

The correct option is C Rs. 19
Let A,G represents price of one apple and one guava respectively.
Given :
19A+11G=482 ......... (1)
11A+19G=48264=418 ............. (2)
Solving equations (1) and (2) simultaneously we get
G=11
Substituting G in (1) we get
A=19.
AG=8.
Hence, the more amount Ganesh has to pay to purchase Apple instead of Gauva is Rs. 8.
