The correct option is A X is the north pole, Y is the south pole.
Like poles of magnets repel and unlike poles attract.
The upper magnet is lifted up in air. Therefore, it is being repelled by the bottom magnet. Hence, it can be concluded that X is the north pole and Y is the south pole in the upper magnet.
