$\Rightarrow$ Taby will have $\$1285-\$237$ in his bank account.

Aligning both the numbers according to Place value table,

We will add $0$ to the left of $237$ to make $4$ digits


For subtracting these two numbers we need to place the like terms of both the digits together i.e. digits at ones place will be placed together, digits at tens place will be placed together.

Now , we can't do $5-7$ , thus we carry 1 tens from $8$

So, at ones place, $10+5-7$ = $15-7$ = $8$
