  • When a gas is enclosed in a container, the particles of a gas hit the walls of the container and exert pressure on it.
  • Also, Pressure=ForceArea
  • As the number of particles in a given area is constant at a given time, therefore force exerted by them in that area will also be constant resulting in constant pressure.
  • It might happen that number of particles hitting the wall in a unit area are lesser than the other at a given moment due to which pressure in one area might be lower than the other but due to the random fast movement of molecules in all directions, the exerted pressure comes out to be the same in all directions.
