Solution

Solar light:

  1. Solar light is a light that functions based on sunlight
  2. Solar light absorbs solar energy during the daytime and converts solar energy into electrical energy during nighttime in the absence of the sun.
  3. Example: Street lights. They are made up of a photovoltaic cell and it converts solar energy into electrical energy.

Solar water heater:

  1. The solar water heater is a water heater that functions based on the sun.
  2. Solar water heater absorbs solar energy during the daytime and converts the solar energy into thermal energy in the absence of the sun.
  3. A solar panel is installed facing the sun which absorbs the solar energy when sunlight is present.
  4. The figure shows a solar water heater. The blue region absorbs heat from the sun.

Solar cooker:

  1. The solar cooker is a cooker that functions based on sunlight.
  2. Solar cooker absorbs and traps the solar energy which is used in the cooker.
  3. The light that falls on the reflector is reflected to the glass plate, the glass plate allows the high-frequency light coming from the sun to enter it.
  4. This light is converted into low-frequency infrared radiation.
  5. The glass traps these waves, in turn heating the inside of it.
  6. The food kept inside it can be heated in this way.

Drawbacks:

These devices are applicable in areas with high or moderate sunlight. If the sunlight or daytime is too low, then these devices cannot get enough heat and cannot work.
