However, when he was about to reach the finishing line, he suffered a severe muscle cramp in his leg. He could not run and affected the race. (a) During the time of sternous activities like fast running and exercises, the immediate need of body for energy is carried out by anaerobic respiration of glucose, as the amount of oxygen reaching at the tissue level might be limited in such situations .
(b) Due to anaerobic mechanism of respiration during heavy exercise , the incomplete oxidation of glucose results in formation of lactic acid inside the muscle, which often causes muscle cramps in such situations.
(c) Subhash has shown his helping nature, brotherhood and application of knowledge for practical aspect in this situation.
