Solution

The correct option is B

population

Gene frequency or allele frequency, is the relative frequency of an allele or a variant of the gene at a particular locus (position in the chromosome), expressed as a fraction or percentage of the total number of alleles in the population. Specifically, it is the fraction of all chromosomes in the population that carry that allele. Gene flow is the transfer of alleles or genes from one population to another. Migration into or out of a population causes gene flow and may be responsible for a marked change in gene frequencies. Population density is the number of individuals per unit of area. Age distribution is the proportionate numbers of individuals in successive age categories in a given population. Overpopulation is an undesirable condition where the number of existing individuals of a population exceeds the carrying capacity. As you can see they are all attributes of an interbreeding group of individuals in a given area, therefore they are characteristics of a population.
