Genetic constitution of gamete gets decided in ___.
Anaphase-I
Gametogenesis involves meiosis. In anaphase-I, the two homologous sets of chromosomes containing the two different alleles segregate, and the genetic constitution of the gametes get decided in this stage.
The sister chromatids are separated in anaphase-II, but the sister chromatids are identical copies of a single allele formed through replication, and do not alter the genetic constitution of the gametes formed.
Metaphase-I or interkinesis does not involve chromosome or allele separation.
