Solution

The correct option is B Restriction endonuclease
RNA retroviruses have reverse transcriptase enzyme that synthesizes a DNA copy (cDNA) of viral RNA. The enzymes use RNA as template to synthesize DNA, hence the name RNA dependent DNA polymerase.
Digestion of ingested proteins in the stomach and small intestine is carried out by proteases which are mostly synthesized as inactive zymogens.
Zymase is a yeast enzyme that ferments sugar into ethanol and carbon dioxide. Restriction endonucleases recognize specific sequences in the DNA and cut the DNA into fragments. The specific sites are 4-6 bp long and are called as restriction sites. Each restriction endonuclease has a specific restriction site. Restriction enzymes cut the DNA in middle leaving “blunt” ends on the DNA or staggered cuts are made that leave “sticky” ends with 5’ or 3’ overhang that can reanneal spontaneously by complementary base pairing. Cuts at specific sites produce uniform DNA fragments with sticky or blunts ends that are easily ligated with other DNA strands; a requisite for creating rDNA. The restriction enzyme digested DNA fragments are used for gel electrophoresis, blotting, PCR and DNA profiling through DNA fingerprinting. Correct answer is A.
