Question

Gerry has a large box of volume 50 m³ and has to fill in smaller boxes of 9 m³ inside of it. How many entire boxes can he fit in?

Open in App
Solution

Volume of the bigger box =50 m3

Volume of the smaller boxes =9 m3

Therefore, the number of boxes that he can fit in =Totalvolumeoftheboxvolumeofsmallerbox=509=5.56

Since he has to fill in entire boxes, we cannot have the volume in decimals, so the maximum number of small boxes that can entirely fill into the bigger box =5
