Cartilage:

  1. Cartilage is non- porous, translucent, soft elastic tissue without blood vessels and nerves.
  2. It is found at the tip of the nose, ears, rings of trachea, and at the ends of long bones.
  3. It consists of thick ground substance called matrix.
  4. It contains the chondrocyte cells arranged in a group of two, four, or eight and forms lacunae.
  5. The chondrocytes are responsible for the growth of the cartilage.
