Give a brief account of various types of fruits.

Fruits are of three main types

1) Simple fruit - A simple fruit develops from the single simple or compound ovary of a flower. It can be dry or succulent (flesh)

$\to$ Dry fruits are further three types.

(1) Achene

(2) capsular

(3) Schizocarpic.

2) Aggregate fruits :- It is also known as etaerio, it is a group of Simple fruits that develop from the free ovaries of a single flower.

3) Composite or Multiple fruits :- it is a group of fruits which develops from the different flowers of an inflorescence.

It is of two types,

(1) sorosis

(2) syconus
