Give a brief account on lysosomal enzymes.

Lysosome is a membrane-bound organelle present in the eukaryotic cells. It contains lysosomal enzymes which are capable of breakdown of many biological molecules. These are digestive enzymes like glycosidases, proteases, sulfatases. These enzymes are synthesized in endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and transported to golgi apparatus. From golgi apparatus, these are transferred to lysosome. Apart from food, these enzymes also digest They digest worn out organelles, viruses, bacteria.
