Vermicomposting is the process of formation of compost in the by the worms, especially earthworm. In this process, worms ingest organic waste and digest them. During the process of digestion, they degrade organic waste into simpler compounds and utilized for metabolic process. The unused and decayed part is thrown out from the body is known as vermicompost. It is rich in nitrogen and increases the fertility of the soil.
