Dear student,
Ranga, the son of the village accountant, was the first to be sent to Bangalore for higher education. Ranga was rather well mannered. Despite his city education, he followed his traditional upbringing and respected elders. He was gullible and got tricked by the narrator into marrying Ratna. Ranga felt that a man should marry a girl he admired and that she should not be a docile, submissive village girl.
