  • The west coast is situated at the western shores of the Indian peninsula, facing the Arabian sea.
  • The coast begins from the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat and runs through Kanyankumari in Tamil Nadu.
  • The northern part consists of the Konkan coast. It lies in the region of Maharashtra and Goa.
  • The middle part consists of the Canara coast or Kannad plain. It lies in the region of Kannada.
  • And the southern part consists of the Malabar coast. It lies in the region of Kerala.
