Solution

Chromatography is used for the separation and purification of organic compounds.
There is difference in the movement of individual components of a mixture through the stationary phase under the influence of mobile phase.
For example, chromatography is used for the separation of red and blue ink. A drop of the mixture is placed on chromatogram. The component that has less affinity for the stationary phase, moves faster than other component.
