2. Water and minerals present in the soil are absorbed by the roots and transported to the leaves by the vessels.
3. Carbon dioxide from the air is taken through the stomata present in the leaves.
4. Food is produced in the form of carbohydrates inside the leaves and it is transported to the different parts of the plants.
   
5. The solar energy trapped by chlorophyll is used to synthesize food from carbon dioxide and water.
   
6. Chlorophyll is the green pigment present in the green parts of plants.
