Dear Student,
Solar system is the group of all the planets which revolve around Sun. In addition to planets, the Solar System also consists of moons, comets, asteroids, minor planets, and dust and gas. Everything in the Solar System orbits or revolves around the Sun.The Sun is the largest object within the Solar System - it makes up more than 95% of all the matter. It is because of the Sun's large size that the rest of the objects within the Solar System orbit around it. The inner solar system contains the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. The main asteroid belt lies between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. The planets of the outer solar system are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune (Pluto is now classified as a dwarf planet).
