Solution:
Precipitation refers to all forms of water that fall from clouds and reach the earth’s surface. For the occurrence of precipitation, cloud droplets or ice crystals must grow heavy enough to fall through the air.

There are various forms of precipitation such as Rain, Sleet, Hail, Snow, and Freezing Rain.

Forms of Precipitation​
  1. Rain is a form of precipitation in the form of water droplets.​
  2. Sleet is a form of precipitation which is a mixture of water droplets and tiny particles of ice.​
  3. Hail is a round pallet of ice larger than 5 millimetres (mm) in diameter. Formed only in a cumulonimbus cloud.​
  4. Snowfall consists of snow in the form of a powdery mass of ice formed due to the lowering of temperature. Found in the mountainous and polar region.​
  5. Freezing Rain consists of rain drops freezing when they touch a cold surface.
