Purine exchange:

  1. Purine includes the bases like Adenine (A) and Guanine (G).
  2. When two purines (AG) or two pyrimidines (CT) are interchanged it is known as transition.
  3. When a purine and a pyrimidine are exchanged it is known as transversion.
  4. Gout is a disease caused by a Purine exchange.

Gout:

  1. Gout is an autosomal recessive disorder caused by purine metabolism.
  2. It elevates the level of uric acid.
  3. It is caused by an abnormality in purine metabolism.
  4. It is caused by urate salt infiltration which causes inflammatory reactions.
  5. Kidney failure is the most common cause of gout.
