Solution

  • Handpicking of cotton balls will help the plant to grow and it has a good effect on the yield.
  • Cotton is a labour-intensive crop due to its difficult processes like hand picking of cotton balls and picking the seeds from the cotton balls.
  • Although the automation machinery introduced in certain areas, the cotton crop has extensive manual labour at work even today.

  • Retting is a process in which the tied bundles of jute stalks are taken to the tank by which fibers get loosened and separated from the woody stalk.
  • After retting is complete, the bark is peeled from the plant and fiber is removed.
  • Fibre must be extracted as quickly as possible otherwise the quality will suffer.
  • The growing of pulses is important in India to overcome nutrition insecurity, improve soil fertility by nitrogen fixation and provide income support to farmers.
