Solution

  1. Kanyakumari experiences equable climate because of the following reasons:
  • Kanyakumari is located at the tip of the Indian sub-continent.
  • Kanyakumari will experience Maritime climate and also falls under the equatorial climate zone. Three different water bodies merge at this place making it more equable.
  • Central Maharashtra gets less rainfall than the coastal area of Maharashtra due to the leeward region/rain shadow region of western ghats. No rainfall due to the descending air in central Maharashtra.
  • Jaipur has a higher annual range of temperature than Mumbai due to arid/ dry conditions of Jaipur. Mumbai incurs maritime climate (sea coast helps in moderating the climate).
