Solution

Humidity - It is the amount of water vapour or moisture that is present in the air.

  • A dry atmosphere can hold more water molecules than a humid atmosphere. Hence, the rate of evaporation of aqueous solution decreases with the increase of humidity and vice versa.
  • The rate of evaporation decreases with an increase in humidity.
  • For example - If air already has a sufficient amount of moisture, then it cannot absorb more of it.
  • Hence, the rate of evaporation decreases.

Therefore, we can say that the rate of evaporation decreases with an increase in humidity.
