Solution

Reflex action:

  1. Reflex action is a sudden and involuntary response against any external stimulus.
  2. It occurs due to the nervous system that comprises neurons and the pathway through which reflex action takes place is called a reflex arc.
  3. When a pin is pricked in the finger the signals are received by the sensory neurons and it is sent to the brain via the spinal cord.
  4. The signals are processed (for removal of the hand) and sent toward the muscles by the motor neuron.
  5. Thus, remove our hand when our finger gets accidentally pricked by a pin because of the reflex action.
