Virus: This is an infectious agent which is a small submicroscopic living organism that utilizes host machinery to replicate and increase its number.

Diseases caused by viruses include AIDS, Hepatitis A, and Dengue.

  1. AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency syndrome): AIDS is caused by the Human Immuno virus. It is an infectious disease which transmit through sexual contact with an infected person, transfusion of blood contaminated with HIV, and the use of infected needles. Symptoms: weight loss, loss of immunity, high fever, weakness in the body.
  2. Hepatitis B: It is caused by hepatitis virus B which is transmitted to a healthy person by intake of contaminated food and water. Symptoms: Abdominal pain, Joint pain, Vomiting, weakness, and yellowing of the skin.
  3. Rabies: It is an infectious disease that is caused by the Rabies virus and is transmitted to human beings through the bite of infected dogs, and monkeys. Symptoms: Headache, high fever, restlessness, the patient finds difficulty in taking liquid food
