(b) Name of a gland that transports secretions through ducts –

Exocrine glands:

  1. Exocrine glands secrete their substances with the help of a duct.
  2. For example salivary glands.

(c) Chemicals that control changes at the adolescence stage –

Hormones:

  1. Hormones are chemical substances that are secreted by endocrine glands.
  2. It is important for the proper functioning of various organs of the body.
  3. During adolescence, reproductive hormones start to function and cause pubertal changes.
  4. Example - Estrogen, Testosterone, etc.

(d) It marks the beginning of the reproductive period –

Puberty:

  1. Puberty is a time duration of 12 to 19 years of age which is marked by various changes leading to sexual maturity.
  2. Reproductive hormones cause these changes.
