German monk Martin Luther was a theologian and professor.
In 1517, Martin Luther wrote 95 theses criticising the practices and rituals of the Roman Catholic church.
He nailed the printed copies of his points to the doors of the Wittenberg church.
He invited the Catholic Church to debate his ideas. Luther’s writings were reproduced in large numbers which in turn kickstarted the Protestant Reformation.
