Question

Give an example in which potential energy gets converted into kinetic energy.

Solution

  1. When you roll a ball down a ramp and it is at its highest point, it has Potential Energy, but when you let it roll down the ramp, it converts it into Kinetic Energy (as well as heat due to friction).
  2. And on it’s way back up it is still using Kinetic Energy (since it is still moving) but it is also converting it into Potential Energy.
