Solution

Heterogenous mixture: It is the type of mixture in which two or more components of a substance do not mix with each other completely and because of that the composition is not the same throughout.

  • A separate phase of the substances is visible.

An example of a liquid-liquid heterogeneous mixture is oil in water.

  • When we add oil to the water, we can see two separate layers of oil and water.
  • This solution can be separated by using separating funnels available in chemistry labs.
