Solution

DNA:

DNA or Deoxyribonucleic acid is the chemical basis of genes that acts as genetic material in most living organisms. Each deoxyribonucleotide unit consists of 3 basic molecules:

  1. Phosphate group(PO4-)
  2. 5-carbon deoxyribose and sugar(C5H10O4)
  3. Nitrogenous base

Example of a nitrogenous base in DNA :

  1. There are four different types of nitrogenous bases present in DNA. They are adenine (A), guanine (G), thymine (T), and cytosine (C).
  2. Adenine and guanine are purine bases, whereas thymine and cytosine are pyrimidine bases. A pair with T by two hydrogen bonds and G pair with C by three hydrogen bonds respectively.
