Give an example of anaerobic plant.

Solution

Dear student,

The plants are not anaerobic, but they can respire anaerobically which is called fermentation.
Anaerobic respiration in plants is not so much efficient because it produces only two molecules of ATP while converting one molecule of glucose into ethyl alcohol and carbon dioxide.
Generally, anaerobic respiration in plants occurs in the germinating seeds under the ground.

Regards.
