  1. A cellular mechanism by which cells grow in reverse, from a partially differentiated stage to a less differentiated stage is termed as dedifferntiation.
  2. This occurs within the cell lineage.
  3. This phenomenon occurs due to change in the gene expression pattern, shape and protein expression pattern.
  4. Interfascicular cambium and cork cambium are the examples of tissues formed by dedifferntiation.
