When an iron nail is dropped into a blue-coloured copper sulphate solution, the blue colour of the solution fades and eventually turns light green due to formation of ferrous sulphate. This chemical change is an example of change in color of reactant.
The chemical equation for the reaction can be given as,
Fe+CuSO4(aq)FeSO4+Cu
iron blue greeen red
