Functions of ribosomes:

  1. Ribosomes are called the “protein factory” of the cell as it assembles the mRNA and tRNA to carry out the synthesis of protein.
  2. This protein is utilized for various functions of the cell and for carrying out various activities.
  3. It also acts as a protector as it protects mRNA from digestion by the cytoplasmic enzymes.
