Give any four modes of transmission of AIDS.

AIDS is Acquired immune deficiency syndrome. AIDS is caused by a virus called HIV(Human immunodeficiency virus). When this virus enters the bloodstream, a person may become infected with it and is said to be HIV positive.

Various modes of transmission:-

• Using needles already infected with HIV positive blood- In hospitals due to ignorance or lack of attention of doctors/ nurses reuse the needles infected with HIV is possible, this could be the reason for the transmission of disease.
• During sexual intercourse:-Unprotected sex with infected person can cause for transmission of virus.
• Through blood transfusion
• From Infected mothers to their babies during pregnancy or delivery.
• Injectable Drug Abuse
