Question

Give any one difference between anisotropy and isotropy nature of solid.

Open in App
Solution

The ability of crystalline solids to change values of physical properties when measured in different directions is called anisotropy. It arises because the composition of solid changes with direction.
On the other hand, the values of the physical properties for amorphous solids do not change with change of direction. The properties remain same in all the directions. It is called isotropy.
