Solution
Miscible liquids: Those liquids which mix together in all proportions and form a single layer are called miscible liquids.
Fractional distillation: The process of separation of two or more miscible liquids with the difference in their boiling points close to each other into individual components by distillation is called fractional distillation.
Examples:
The following mixtures can be separated by the process of fractional distillation :
A mixture of alcohol and water
A mixture of Sulphur dioxide and chlorine.
A mixture of Ammonia and water.
A mixture (of liquid air) can be used to separate gases from the air.
