Give any two similarities between combustion and respiration.

Respiration: It is the process in which living organisms use oxygen for the oxidation of glucose and in this process, the energy which is released is stored for day-to-day work. The by-product of respiration is carbon dioxide which is then released by organisms in the environment.

Combustion: It is the process in which oxygen is also required and oxidation takes place but this is a very fast process and the energy released will become heat in combustion.

Similarities between respiration and combustion:

Oxygen is required for this processs.	Oxygen is required for this process also.
The product is carbon dioxide and water.	The product is carbon dioxide and water also. Apart from these two heat, sound and light are also produced in this process.
