Erythrocytes:

  • Red Blood Cells (RBCs) are the kind of cells that are present most abundant in the blood.
  • They are biconcave disc-shaped cells and are also known as erythrocytes.
  • The red colour of the erythrocytes is due to the presence of the pigment haemoglobin.
