Solution
Turgidity:
Opening and rolling up of leaf blades depends on turgidity and flaccidity respectively of cells of the leaf.
Many monocot plants that survive in dry climates or drought conditions have large, transparent bubble-like cells flanking their mid-veins.
During water-deficient conditions or on a bright sunny day, these cells become flaccid and make the leaf margin roll towards the vein, thus, reducing transpiration.
With the return of normal water conditions, the cells become turgid, opening the leaf blade to facilitate transpiration.
